Leopards Fare Well in Onaga

Onaga, KS--Most Saturday mornings people are sleeping in, but during wrestling season, the leopard grapplers are doing just the opposite.  This past Saturday the wrestling squad weighed in at 4:45 am so they could get on the bus bound for Onaga, KS.  Onaga, in case you are wondering is approximately 3 hours away an located in Northeast Kansas.

The early morning and long ride did nothing to slow the wrestlers as they took 5th place out of 15 schools with 77 points, and had an individual champion in Sean Ussrey (152), as well as four additional placers on the varsity squad and three placers from the junior varsity squad.

The wrestlers will wrap up the first half of their season this week as they go to Beloit to dual the Trojans as well as the Russell Broncos.  They will then host the Lincoln/Ellsworth Round Robin on Saturday Dec. 17.  Team attending this year are, Ellsworth, Chapman, Stafford, Salina Central, and JC Harmon.  Wrestling begins at 10:00 am and once again the action will be livestreamed at http://lincolnwrestling.blogspot.com.
