Wrestlers start Second Half Strong

Ellsworth Invite

Concordia JV Tourney

With their last competition Dec. 17, the leopard wrestlers had some time off to get healthy and get back to the basics.   This time away did much to revitalize the team as both the jv and varsity squads competed very strong over the weekend.

On Friday night, Concordia hosted a jv tourney where Lincoln was able to place four of their wrestlers.  Hayden Howard, just back from a broken foot went 3-0 and won the 160 class.  Also placing for were 285# Fritz Berger (2nd), 152# Nick Feldkamp (3rd), and 182# Tyler Anderson (3rd).  Wrestlers, Kyle Budreau, Kyle Breneman, and Randall Martin also wrestled well, but were unable to garner a medal.

The 39th Ellworth Invite took place on Saturday, and Lincoln was able to place 4 wrestlers, with two being finalsists.  106# Rocky Krueger and 152# Sean Ussrey both made the finals but were turned away from the championship.  Winning in the consolation finals were 182# Joe Myers and 195# Colton Panzer.  Both wrestlers were able to pin their opponents in dramatic fashion to finish off the day.

The team will see action this coming Thursday when they travel to Stafford for the Trojan Dual Tournament.  Lincoln will dual, Stafford, Hoisington, Larned, Nickerson,  Chaparral.
