Lindsborg, KS--Thursday night the Lincoln wrestlers traveled to Smoky Valley High School to face #9 Beloit and 4A Russell in a double dual. The leopard we able to pick up one win against Beloit with Archie Huskey (145) getting a pin. Beloit, with three ranked wreslters were able to take the dual by a 71-6 margin.
Lincoln fared much better against Russel, but still fell by a 52-28 margin. Picking up wins were
Colby Donley (140) by forfeit, Archie Huskey (145) by fall, Kyle Zachgo (160) 11-2 major decision, Steven Timson (215) by fall, and Paul Barrientes (285) by fall)
"We love competing against the best," said Coach Naasz, "we didn't have the kind of success that we would like, but its early yet and we can only get better seeing this level of competition."
Next up for Lincoln will be the Ellsworth Round Robin which starts at 9:00 am on Saturday. Teams that will be attending: Ellsworth, Chapman, Stafford, and Smoky Valley.
