Stafford, KS--Last Thursday night the Lincoln wrestling team braved the cold weather and a broken down bus on their way to Stafford for the Trojan Duals. Competing in a dual tournament on a Thursday night was quite a departure from the rest of the season's schedule which is made up of mostly weekend tournaments. While the team managed only a 1-3 record on the night (they tied Chaparral but lost due to a tie-breaker), many of the wrestlers managed to find quite a bit of success for themselves. Freshman 106# wrestler Rocky Krueger lead the team on the night with a 4-0 record which pushed his season standing to 14-5. 152# Kevin Cain was the only other undefeated wrestler going 3-0. Turning in one loss nights were 160# Kevin Cavalli, 182# Joe Myers, and 195# Colton Panzer.
The team will travel to Beloit this coming Friday and Saturday for the highly competitive Beloit Invitational. The JV team will travel back to Stafford on Saturday for their annual junior varsity tournament.
