Beloit, KS--The always tough Beloit Invitational did not disappoint this season. The following information was compiled by "Shoeless" of the USAWKS High School forum.
"Ranked Teams (8): Beloit (#3 in 3-2-1A); Chanute (#9 in 4A); Clay Center (t#10 in 4A); Colby (#6 in 4A);
Concordia (#8 in 4A); Hoxie (#2 in 3-2-1A); Oberlin (#5 in 3-2-1A); Smith Center (#10 in 3-2-1A)
Individually, 43 wrestlers are ranked in Class 5A, 4A or 3-2-1A that are competing in the Beloit Invitational"

The leopards, while wrestling tough, were unable to pick up any wins during the tournament that were scored. However, Hayden Howard started off the tournament in a wrestle-in match, otherwise known as a pig-tail or feather-match, where he outscored his Blue Valley South-West opponent 16-5.
"Its a tough tournament and thats why we come, I was talking Kevin Street, one of our former wrestlers, about how things were going and he said, we don't go to the Beloit Invite for easy matches coach." Stated Coach Naasz. "It is nice to know that the kids current and former understand what we are doing going to such a tough tournament, it will only make us stronger as we continue to build toward regionals."
The leopards will look to rebound this coming Saturday in Red Cloud, NE for the Annual Red Cloud/Blue Hill Invitational. Teams attending this season are: Alma; Dorchester; Franklin; Kenesaw/Shelton; Lincoln KS; Meridian; Red Cloud/Blue Hill; Republic County KS; Russell KS; Southwest; Sutton; Thayer Central; and Wilcox/Hildreth.
