2 Finalist for Leopards

January 9, 2010

ELLSWORTH, KS -- The Lincoln matmen kicked off the 2010 portion of the season as they headed 30 miles south to Ellsworth for the 37th Annual Ellsworth Invitational. There were 14 teams competing in the tournament this year with Lincoln finishing in a solid 9th place while competing short handed. Only six of the leopards were healthy enough to make the trip. Senior Caption CJ Wilson continued his strong season by moving his record to 7-1 and taking 2nd place. Dylan Obermueller fought lower back pain throughout the tournament to make finals.

Due to the current state of school finances, the Leopards have pulled out of the Halstead Tournament Scheduled for Jan. 15 & 16 and will instead, travel to Stafford for the Trojan Duals on Jan. 14. The Trojan Duals will have 5 rounds of duals with Lincoln competing against:
Stafford, Nickerson, Hoisington, Maize South, & Chaparral. Matches will begin at 4:00 pm.
